Thank you for your interest in joining IHAN!
We extend an open invitation to individuals across the globe, inviting you to stand alongside us in bolstering our endeavors in climate disaster response and recovery. Regardless of your ability to physically journey to the site of a disaster, we are actively seeking both compassionate integrative practitioners, crisis support and administrative volunteers. Whether your role involves on-site deployment to disaster areas or contributing to long-term recovery clinics, some tasks can also be performed remotely. Your involvement, in any form, holds immeasurable value in our collective mission.
IHAN traces its roots back to Sonoma County, with a firmly established track record of aiding regions impacted by California wildfires. Currently, we are expanding our reach through a partnership with You Know More, a Maui-based organization. This collaboration involves a unique approach, wherein You Know More volunteers register with IHAN. Leveraging our existing volunteer registration and trauma-informed training system, we aim to simplify the process for integrative health practitioners affected by disasters.
Our goal is to spare practitioners in Maui and other communities impacted by climate disasters from the burden of reinventing the wheel, enabling them to concentrate on delivering essential support during times of need. By managing the vetting and training of volunteers, we ensure a trauma-informed approach that facilitates the involvement of those dedicated to making a positive impact in the aftermath of disasters. Regardless of your location, we invite you to enlist as a volunteer. We are actively navigating state board reciprocity regulations, aiming to facilitate the participation of practitioners across state boundaries.
If you have questions regarding volunteering, please reach out to [email protected]. Your proactive spirit could serve as the guiding light that assists climate disaster survivors and first responders in navigating through their most challenging moments.

Licensed & Certified Practitioner Volunteers
Please note: You will need your license/certification and malpractice information to register.
Upon receiving your registration and verifying your credentials, we will promptly send an email confirming your registration. After confirmation, we kindly request that you complete the required training videos before deployment. To ensure the safety of clients, volunteers, and our organization, practitioners must hold a valid license or certification and carry malpractice insurance. In the event of a significant climate disaster, you will receive timely notifications with instructions on how to volunteer.
Additionally, we will provide information about long-term recovery volunteer opportunities. It has been well documented that it takes at least ten years for a community to recover from a major climate disaster. Your commitment to long-term recovery efforts is crucial in making a lasting impact on the affected community.

Crisis Support and Administrative Volunteers
Our services thrive on both clinical excellence and essential administrative and crisis support. If you're enthusiastic about contributing but lack a practitioner's license, your assistance in areas such as clinic administration, marketing, and additional crisis support tasks would be greatly appreciated. Your healing skills can provide solace to evacuees and first responders, while also sharing mind-body medicine tools. For those who deploy to a disaster, this role involves direct interfacing with those we serve, requiring compassion and composure under sometimes stressful conditions. For those unable to travel to the disaster site, virtual options are available for certain administrative tasks. Trauma-informed volunteers are essential across all clinic operations.
