Where the Work Happens

IHAN deploys a statewide network of licensed integrative health practitioners directly to fire stations and base camps — bringing specialized, trauma-informed care to firefighters and the communities they protect facing a California wildfire season that grows longer and more destructive every year.

Our programs address what often goes unseen: the toxic exposure, environmental health impacts, and nervous system strain that accumulate over a career spent fighting fire.

We are there during active deployments. We are there in the months that follow.

What We Do

We mobilize a statewide network of trauma-informed integrative health providers to deliver care on the front lines — from the first hours of disaster response through long-term recovery.

Who We Serve

Firefighters are at the center of our work. We also serve the communities they protect — those carrying the physical and emotional toll of living through wildfire and environmental disaster. All care is delivered free of charge to those we serve.

I’d been coughing for six months from exposures to other wildfires — the Park Fire, the Mountain Fire, the Franklin Fire, and then the Eaton Fire. Like, nonstop coughing, to the point where I thought I had pneumonia. I went and did the glutathione treatment and the cough went away. Pretty incredible.

I was on the Eaton Fire incident for the first three days. Haven’t been able to get rid of the cough. I was very fortunate to come here yesterday I did a breathing treatment, did an IV. I kid you not, I probably got the best sleep I’ve gotten in a very long time and woke up this morning to a cough that was able to expunge a ton of junk that I’ve been trying to get rid of with over the counter meds for the last five, six, seven days that I haven’t been able to. This is after one day. So needless to say, I’m a huge believer in it.

A lot’s coming up right now from down deep in the lungs. It’s definitely feeling better. I haven’t slept that well in a long time.

The breathing treatment I had today has really helped out. I’ve seen a lot of firefighters affected by cancer. There’s many of them that I’ve known that have passed away, and I’ve seen the suffering that they go through. A program like yours will be such a great benefit and prevent a lot of suffering, needless suffering for people in my occupation.
